Seacoast Commerce Bank is offering a 2.05% APY money market account on balances over $25,000. If your funds drop below that level the rate falls to 1.05% APY and you get slapped with a $25 monthly fee, so this deal is only worth it if you intend on staying above $25,000.
Seacoast is also offering a 2.28% APY 1 year CD and a 2.58% APY 2 year certificate of deposit with a minimum deposit of $10,000. The rate is locked when you submit your application. There’s no fees for incoming wire transfers to open the account, outgoing transfers have a $30 fee. The early withdrawal penalty is 3 months’ interest, and you need to send a written request to close the CD at maturity.
Accounts can be opened nationwide and there’s an application you can download online and send in through the mail.
Seacoast Commerce Bank is located in Chula Vista, California. They have a 3 out of 5 star soundness rating from bankrate and are FDIC insured.
Cocerning the 2.05% money market account, if I mail in the “Internet Account Application” will I still be eligible for the 2.05% yield?
