What is RSS? You may have seen the image to the left on many sites including bromoney but what does it mean? What is the Bromoney RSS Feed?
Do you want to keep up with the latest posts on Bromoney?
There are many ways you can keep up with the latest posts on Bromoney, and RSS is the most popular way to do it. But what is RSS?
What is RSS?
RSS stands for “really simple syndication” and it is used by millions of internet users to track down their favorite sites. The old way that users used to track sites was to bookmark their favorite sites. The problem with bookmarks is you have to visit every site you have bookmarked to check for updates and a lot of the time there will be no new information when you check a lot of sites. RSS is different.
The Power of RSS
What if I told you that you could receive a notification every time your favorite sites updated their content? That is what RSS does.
RSS notifies you when new posts are made on all your subscriptions and gives you the date, time, name of the post, and of course a link to the new post. It may sound complicated, but it’s easy to learn how to use and once you start using it, you’ll never go back to the old way of checking sites for updates again.
How to Use RSS
The first step is to get a RSS reader. There are lots and lots of these, but a lot of people use google reader because it’s easy to use. All you do is add a subscription to the feed you want, then google reader will show you which posts you haven’t read. The best way to get used to using the feed is to subscribe to a feed, take the Bromoney Feed for example, and to take a look at what happens.
Don’t like RSS? Use email updates instead.
If you don’t think RSS is right for you, you can get Bromoney updates emailed directly to you when you sign up for the email feed. Just enter your email address in the email subscription box and you will get an email every time new bank deals are posted on Bromoney. You can also cancel easily at any time.
I hope you now know what RSS is and why it’s so great!
