Navy Federal Credit Union is offering a 6 month CD with a 3.75% APY which is down .25% from last month, but is still competitive. The minimum deposit on the CD is $10,000. They are also offering a 5.10% APY on a 7 year CD. The 5 year CD is now 4.40% with a minimum deposit of $20,000. If you have between $1,000-$20,000 the APY is .15% lower.
They also have a 4.25% APY for a 1-year certificate of deposit. However, you can only get one for up to $10,000 and you have to have a checking and direct deposit for the 1 year rate.
Navy Federal is also now not limited to the Navy, but members or relatives of the Army, Marine Corps and Air Force can now apply for membership. Navy Federal is federally insured by the NCUA and is the largest US credit union with $35.8 billion in assets and over 3 million members.
